How I Became Organised With These 5 Tricks

As independent hard working woman, being organized is essential! If you want to be efficient and perform to your full potential, developing a good organizational routine is crucial. This took me many years to figure out but I can now say with confidence that I am the most organized I have ever been! Here are some of my tricks:


Get up early – I’m really not a morning person – normally – but for some time, I’ve been forced to get up earlier than usual to complete as many tasks as possible in my day. I make great efforts to go to bed at a decent time so that I can have at least eight good hours of sleep. I started shifting my wake up time by 15 minutes every morning and I finally can get up two hours earlier than my usual time – I consider that a win. Since I have made this change in habits, I’m really proud of all I can accomplish in a day.


Anticipate your tasks – Lists, Lists, and Lists. I always make a big list every Monday of what I would like to accomplish throughout the week. Then, every morning, I select a few tasks that I add to my daily to-do list.

By making lists, I can see and keep track of my tasks and make time for them in my schedule instead of squeezing them in at the last minute. Writing these several times and in multiple places also allows me not to forget one unintentionally


Start with the boring tasks – I always start my day with a boring task. Rather than thinking about it all day, I prefer to get rid of it in the morning. In this way, I have a better day and it prevents me from procrastinating and pushing it to the next day.


The Perfect workspace – I often find myself working/ doing homework in my bed: worst mistake ever. I quickly learned – at my expense – that it was better for me to work in a suitable place. If I do not have a room dedicated to work – I sit down at the kitchen table. More ergonomic, fewer distractions and a better performance in my tasks. It’s a small change that has a big impact on the quality of my work. Plus, now when I get into bed, I know its time to sleep or relax instead of work.


Find what works for you – Even if I share all my tips and tricks to be more proactive, there’s nothing that guarantees they will be effective for your lifestyle. The best thing you can do is find your own routine that works with your everyday life. Yeah, maybe for you it’s literally impossible to function well during your day if you get up at 6:00 in the morning, yet it works pretty well for me. Try to make small changes from day to day to see what works and what doesn’t work as well. Unfortunately, there is no pre-made formula that works for everyone, just make small changes and adjustments and find what works for you!
