This past Friday, I had a few of my girl friends over for dinner and what is better than a party with endless amounts of food that will keep you at the dinner table for hours chit chatting about anything and everything? NOTHING.. That is why we had a raclette party! Most of them were new to the raclette grill but I can say with confidence they LOVED IT! The plus side of hosting a raclette dinner is 1. it’s super easy 2. you don’t have to be a good cook 3. guaranteed everyone will be well fed, including yourself !
First thing first, you will need to have a raclette grill. There are many different types, round ones, square ones etc. I like using my Home Presence 800 W, 14 piece set. Just plug it in and go!
Now get ready to chop chop some ingredients! For starters, a fresh baguette is a must. For other ingredients, we used different types of raclette cheeses such as, regular , smoked and pepper. These can be found at any grocery store. For meat, we had sirloin steak, Bison and Italian sausage. Veggies, we had boiled potatoes, broccoli, mushrooms, zucchinis. The fun thing is you can add any veggies or meats you desire. For sauces, we made our own garlic aioli ( see recipe below ) or you can easily purchase some high-quality ready-made sauces. Another plus side to having a raclette is all the leftover food which is great for a yummy stir fry the next day!
Once all the ingredients are ready, it’s time to set the table. Place the raclette grill in the middle of the table. Place all chopped ingredients around the center. For a larger group, divide each ingredient into two and put them on each side on the table.
Once the table is set, turn on the grill! To avoid anything from sticking, you can add some butter or olive oil to the grill.
Goodbye headaches and trying to please everyone, the raclette grill will do it for you!!Your guests can choose their meats and toppings based on their preferences! While your food is cooking, you can enjoy your company and a little bit of wine!
